Preparation of functional glyco-polymer and analysis of the cellular immune activity to develop anti-pollen allergy drugs

Asparagine-linked glycans, N-glycans, exsisted in proteins of plant cells are known as plant antigenic N-glycans which are not found in proteins of animal cells. The plant antigenic N-glycans would be useful as the leading compounds of new drugs for anti-pollen allergy, because the core structure of the plant antigenic N-glycans, Man3Xyl1Fuc1GlcNAc2, suppress Th2 immune responses of Japanese cedar pollinosis patients in vitro. In this study, we prepare a glyco-polymer enhanced the immune activities by linking of the plant antigenic N-glycans to biodegradable g-polyglutamic acid. After all, the purpose of this study is to reveal the mechanism of Th2 immune suppression of the glyco-polymer.
