Okayama University and Makerere University of Uganda Sign Agreement

Okayama University signed an agreement of cooperation with Makerere University of the Republic of Uganda on November 8. The signing ceremony was held at the Embassy of Japan in Uganda. Participants included Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan Kazuaki Kameda and about 30 faculty members of both universities. Okayama University President Kiyoshi Morita and Vice-Chancellor John Ddumba-Ssentamu of Makerere University co-signed the agreement.

Since the 2015 academic year, Okayama University’s Institute of Plant Science and Resources and Faculty of Agriculture have been carrying out a wide range of exchange activities with Makerere University, including holding workshops, training young researchers, and hosting student exchanges. Further expansion of exchanges is being anticipated as a result of this agreement.
